Fashion Exhibitions
Anatomy of the Fashion Museum
May 2019 | American Center for Art & Culture | Paris, France
Anatomy of the Fashion Museum was an exhibition created as part of the course “Curating Fashion: History, Theory and Practice” in the MAFS program at Parsons Paris. In collaboration with Palais Galliera, we explored and analyzed four museological practices: collecting, inventorying, conservation and exhibition.
My group explored the practice of inventorying, one that is nowadays considered as quite boring, but that, initially, it was considered as an artistic practice. Through a case study of a Givenchy dress designed for Audrey Hepburn, we connected this practice to its creative origins and managed to highlight the work of the designer and his relationship with Hepburn.
Un-Making the Fashion Digital Image
December 2018 | Glassbox Art Gallery | Paris, France
Un-Making the Fashion Digital Image was an exhibition that explored the behind the scenes process of fashion week photography.
In collaboration with InDigital Media Group, we analyzed the steps required to create a fashion image. My group explored the creation of the fashion image through the lens of time and, specifically, how new technologies have sped up the circulation of these images. This acceleration in relation to fashion has created fascinating cycles so we focused on the steps required between the click of the camera through the end of the process with the consumption of the photo.
